Recently Sonic has been labeled as entering another dark era. In fact the one thing that I can be sure of with every new Sonic release is that it’s going to surprise me. Each game is like one of those mystery toy packages in the mall, you never know what you’re gonna get.

This leads to the series being mocked for inconsistency. Sonic as a series has a track record of just throwing any old idea at the wall and seeing if it will stick. Play it! Play it! That’s how this makes me feel. I think the best way I could sum up Sonic Frontiers is with a series of joyful high pitched screams with heavy gasps in between, followed by images of me on the floor vigorously shaking the game box at you. I really am sorry for whatever that intro was, but I didn't know how to start this. Sonic’s a free elf, baby, and he is fucking killing it. Lets go hogwild because this hog ain't tied no more. Let’s McFreakin lose it over this game ok. Okay okay, jokes out of the way, but seriously!?! I am so fucking impressed. Ya’ll… I think… I think Sega made a good Sonic game… They did it.
